Scarsdale to Host US Senior Open Qualifier

Scarsdale Golf Club will host the met area's Sectional Qualifier for the U.S. Senior Open Championship on June 19. The venerable club will be one of 34 sites in 27 states to hold the event, which lead players to the 2014 U.S. Senior Open Championship at Oak Tree National, in Edmond, OK, July 10-13.

To be eligible, a player must have a Handicap Index® not exceeding 3.4, or be a professional, and be 50 years of age at the start of championship play. If you qualify, sign up now for one of the 144 spots in the field at Scarsdale.

My career as a broadcaster, entrepreneur, and writer has taken me from the jungles of Australia’s Cape York Peninsula to the minarets of Riyadh. I've climbed the spire of the Empire State Building, floated the Usumacinta River to the Mayan ruins at Piedras Negras in Guatemala, and photographed the tree-climbing lions and mountain gorillas of Uganda, but those adventures were no more thrilling than my chip-in eagle on the second hole at Pebble Beach.
